Blocksi provides a comprehensive filtering system to keep students safe. You can filter content using the following:
Unique filters, including web filters, custom category filters, exception lists, keyword filters, top-level domain filters, application filters, access time control filters, YouTube category filters, YouTube channel exception lists, and YouTube keyword filters.
Policies, both regular and time-based.
Penalty box, to apply specific in and out of school policies to specific students.
Access requests, to allow students to request access to blocked sites.
Blocksi provides the following filtering types:
Set up Access Requests on the Admin Dashboard to allow students to request access to blocked pages. For more information, see Access Requests.
Use Access Time Control filters on the Admin and Parent Dashboards to set access times for Bedtime, Facebook, YouTube, Streaming, Gaming, and Social Media. The Admin Access Time Control feature controls settings for General, Facebook, and YouTube only; the Parent Access Time Control feature is more robust, and controls settings for Bedtime, Facebook, YouTube, Streaming, Gaming, and Social Media. For more information, see Access Time Control Filters.
Set up Application filters on the Admin and Teacher Dashboards to block and allow specific applications, such as YouTube and Facebook. For more information, see Application Filters.
Use Exception lists on the Admin, Teacher, Delegate, and Parent Dashboards to block and allow access to user-selected websites. On the Delegate Dashboard, exception lists are assigned to Organizational Units (OUs). For more information, see Exception Lists.
Set up Custom Categories on the Admin Dashboard to block and allows access to user-defined website categories. For more information, see Custom Categories.
Use Keyword filters on the Admin and Teacher Dashboards to specify user-selected keywords. For more information, see Keyword Filters.
Set up Policies on the Admin and Teacher Dashboards. Policies represent collections of filters. On the Teacher Dashboard, you assign them to classes to control filtering to all students in those classes. On the Admin Dashboard, you assign them to OUs to control filtering for all device users in those units. For more information, see Policies.
Note
There may be instances when you want to allow parents to add restrictions to Admin policies. This can be done by enabling the Parent can add to Admin policy option on Time-based Policies.
Use Top-level Domain filters to set up which domains students are allowed to visit and which ones are blocked. For more information, see Top-Level Domain Filters.
Set up Web filters on the Admin and Teacher Dashboards to block and allow access to categorized websites. For more information, see Web Filters.
Use YouTube Category filters on the Admin and Teacher Dashboards to block and allows access to specific YouTube categories. For more information, see YouTube Category Filters.

Filtering in Blocksi follows this hierarchy:
The Class Policy is in effect. This is the policy created by the teacher or the administrator and is used to control filtering for all students during class time.
Delegate filtering takes precedence over Admin filtering.
Parent filtering takes precedence over Delegate and Admin filtering when geofencing or time-based policies are used.
